Halloween Mini - Richmond meets Oz

The W family is quite dear to my family's heart. We got to know them when our oldest children were in music class together and became buddies. They've gone through some difficult struggles over the past few years, but their love, joy and determination has never disappeared. I don't think I have ever seen them without smiles on their faces despite these challenges.

I first did a photo session for them in February, for a very special Santa visit. It was an amazing experience, and I was overjoyed when they hired me for their twins' cake smash and older daughter's portraiture session over the summer. As autumn approached, they mentioned that they'd like me to do their Halloween portraits on a very special theme.

Sweet daughter M wanted to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and they decided that the whole family would get into the theme. Mom was the nicest Wicked Witch I've ever seen, Dad donned a Tin Man costume, and little sisters dressed up as an adorably cute scarecrow and not-so-cowardly lion. They melted my heart!

In honour of technicolour film, I've edited their photos in a different style from my usual portrait styles. W family, thank you for letting me continue to capture your family's portraits. You are such an inspiration as parents, and in what the meaning of family truly is.
