It's been a long time!
June 21. The longest day of the year. By 4:00 a.m., there's already light on the horizon. It also marks another milestone: six years since our last post. It's the longest we've gone without a blog post...ever! I decided it was finally time to bring the blog back—but more on that in a moment. First, can we talk about the fact that Covid was six years ago? Somehow it feels like both yesterday and a lifetime ago. While I certainly don't miss the challenges that came with those

Life post lockdown
It's been an interesting year. The lockdown hit my small business hard - as it did so many small businesses - but I'm fighting through it and moving forward. It's exciting to see things bounce back and see what the world holds as it reopens. 2020 is quieter than last year, but rebounding to be quite busy. June is...jammed. With much of my school-year focus on class and student portraits, I'm pleased to announce that as of today, I have provided school photo services for

It's summer!
It's hard to believe 2019 is halfway over, or that summer is upon us. Truth be told, sometimes it's even hard for me to process that it is summer - the weather these past few weeks hasn't exactly screamed beaches and pools. But alas, it's mid-July already. And as the year plugs ahead, suddenly it dawns on me that it's time to update my blog. Last year, I felt quite on top of blog updates. This year, admittedly I haven't been. I suppose there could be two reasons for it

A word about my style
November saw an amazing number of clients pass through my studio doors. From Christmas mini sessions to portrait sessions, maternity, newborn and cake smash sessions, it was a beautifully busy month. With such a busy schedule - and particularly the quiet that follows the busy-ness - comes the opportunity for reflection, for modifications, for improvements. It becomes the perfect opportunity for me to evaluate what works and where I can further enhance my services. This in

First birthday - sweet Mr. N
Sweet Mr. N joined me in studio a few weeks ago to celebrate his first birthday. We opted to do the session sans cake smash, and had an absolutely delightful time. I've had the pleasure of working with N for a few other sessions this year, and it's been wonderful to watch him grow. N is a sweet little guy, and we played with a variety of props, sets and backdrops to make his first birthday memorable. Towards the end of the session, he started getting a bit sleepy - natura

On vacation
Earlier this week, we returned home from a roughly two-week vacation. Three time zones, two long-haul flights, and two energetic little boys as traveling companions always makes for an adventure. But I digress. I purchased my first D-SLR when I was pregnant with my first son, in the hopes of capturing amazing images and amazing memories of life as a family. That was my first goal for my first D-SLR purchase, to be able to capture amazing moments. Six years later, I nearl

Now announcing - my new studio!
I'm pleased to announce the opening of my new studio. Located right in central Ladner, I have a large studio set up with all of the...

A favourite photo
Moments like these...make it all worthwhile. Knowing just how opposed to Santa Claus my two-year-old was brings even more poignance to this photo. That he spent the majority of the time roaring (yes, roaring) and pouting at Santa from the next room. That finally, finally, Santa convinced the little guy to give him a high five - turned - fist bump. It really does make it all worthwhile.

School sessions
Over the summer, I was approached by another local photographer about the possibility of doing school sessions for her daughter's...
