Spring mini sessions of all sorts!

It's already five days into 2018. Where has the time gone? I can't believe that Christmas vacation is almost over, that we're talking about resuming school soon. How did it happen?

Alas, with the changing seasons come a changing season for photography. Here are some of the wonderful changes that are coming to Kirsten Laufer Photography.

I'm excited to announce that this spring, I am upping my offerings for newborn and maternity by taking two separate on-site workshops - one with the amazing Ana Brandt (http://www.anabrandt.com) this January, and another with Eden Bao (https://www.edenbaophotography.com) this April. Both of these photographers are the absolute top of the game, and I feel so blessed that I can learn from them and share these skills with my clients.

In September, I will be attending a conference to enhance my family photography skills with the Uncommon Collective. I'm very much looking forward to the conference, although truthfully, I think my kids are more eager to see Niagara Falls than anything!

In other news, I do not have any across-the-board price increases this new year. The past year has been quite good to me, and I'm committed to keeping my costs as low as I can to benefit my customers. That being said, because my business has done better than anticipated, 2018 brings it with GST fees for all sessions. GST is now being added to all invoices and photo packages.

With 2018, I have added cake smashes to my regular portfolio. These are done in my studio and consist of three amazing parts: 1) portraiture session using props and backdrops that you select that are specifically designed for young toddlers, 2) cake smash, 3) washbasin "clean-up" session. The session takes roughly 45 minutes and, depending on your child's mood, will incorporate as much of these three different aspects as we can. The cost for my cake smashes is $225, which includes photography through the three parts of the session, specially-selected props and backdrops, and for 2018, the full edited downloadable gallery of 50+ images. This is a savings of roughly $150 off of my regular portraiture fees.

Prefer a shorter session to celebrate a birthday? I also offer (non-cake smash) mini portrait sessions that take advantage of the same / similar props and backdrops. Though June, these sessions are $100 for 20 minutes (5 images) or $125 for 30 minutes (10 images) and include a full edited preview gallery as well as a set number of your favourite images. The mini portrait sessions can be used for a birthday or special event of your choice!

I have recently welcomed a handful of families into my studio for a special type of themed session - pregnancy announcement sessions. Let me know your theme and ideas, and we can come up with an amazing session that captures the joy and excitement of your family (children and/or whole family). These sessions can be done during my portrait mini sessions and are lots of fun!

And a final type of session that I'm pleased to announce - newborn mini sessions. If you'd like a shorter session or want just a handful of images of your precious arrival, these sessions are for you. Newborn mini sessions are only done in my studio and include both detail and family shots depending on the newborn's interest and cooperation. They last roughly 45-60 minutes and cost $225, full edited preview gallery and your favourite 10 images included.
